On March 18th 2009, Esmertec AG shareholders approved the acquisition of Purple Labs SA, creating Europe’s leading mobile software vendor. We then changed our name to Myriad Group AG, to reflect the magnitude and diversity of our team and technologies in the combined business. The final closing of the transaction is expected to occur in the next few weeks.

Myriad now holds the broadest and most market-proven portfolio of any mobile software company in the world:

Software platforms and middleware for 2G and 3G devices, including Android and LiMo platforms.

Full suite of mobile phone applications and runtimes. Indeed, Myriad’s Java runtimes and mobile browsers are among the most widely deployed applications in the industry. (Myriad’s browser is the second best selling mobile software product of all time, having shipped in 1.8 billion phones as of mid-2008.) USSD mobile operator platforms live on many operator networks, serving 157 million mobile users worldwide.
